ABOUT THE AGENT:
Emily Sacks is a literary assistant at Creative Artists Agency working to build her own list. She is looking for young adult, new adult, fiction, and select nonfiction.
EMILY IS SEEKING:
Fiction: Romance (contemporary, historical, paranormal, romantasy, “booktok”), Fantasy (high-fantasy, vast world-building, romantasy), Sci-Fi (space operas, space westerns), Fairy Tales/Folk Tales, and Short Story collections.
“I would love to see books that tell under-represented stories. Historical fiction should feel well-researched and authentic, while any fantasy must have a strong foundation for its world building and setting. I am open to anything that can be comped to the works of Silvia Moreno-Garcia.”
Examples include:
Assistant to the Villain, The Hating Game, Bride, The Other Boleyn Girl, What the River Knows, Deadly Education, Fourth Wing, Legends and Lattes, Six of Crows, The Familiar, Rendezvous with Rama, Ascension, Thistlefoot, How to Be Eaten, Spinning Silver
Nonfiction: History (an emphasis on taking an event or singular topic and expanding on it)
Examples include:
Cleopatra’s Daughter, In Search of Amrit Kaur, The Curse of the Marquis de Sade
You can also find Emily’s manuscript wishlist here.
