By January 1, 2020 January 24th, 2020 No Comments

About this New Literary Agent Spotlight series: We love spotlighting and profiling new literary
agents — such as Alexandra Franklin of Vicky Bijur Literary— because they are actively seeking
new writers and constructing a client list.

Literary Agent Bio: Alexandra Franklin joined the Vicky Bijur Literary Agency after internships and assistant experience at Writers House, HSG Agency, Brandt & Hochman Literary Agents, and Scholastic’s Alliance for Young Artists and Writers.
What to Submit to Alexandra: She enjoys realistic upmarket and literary fiction and is drawn to fresh, engaging voices and complex but sympathetic protagonists. Campus novels, literary thrillers, and coming-of-age novels are of particular interest.
On the nonfiction side, she is interested in unusual and offbeat memoir.
How to Query Alexandra: Send queries addressed to queries[at], or by mail to:
27 West 20th St
Suite 1003
New York, NY 10011
Please send a query letter of no more than three paragraphs on what makes your book special and unique, a very brief synopsis, its length and genre, and your biographical information, along with the first ten pages of your manuscript. Please let us know in your query letter if it is a multiple submission, and kindly keep us informed of other agents’ interest and offers of representation. If sending electronically, paste the pages in an email as we don’t open attachments from unfamiliar senders. If sending by hard copy, please include an SASE for our response. If you want your material returned, include an SASE large enough to contain pages and enough postage to send back to you. For nonfiction, please send a cover letter with a proposal and the first ten pages of your project. We are not the right agency for screenplays, picture books, poetry, self-help, science fiction, fantasy, horror, or romance. No phone or fax queries. We generally respond to all queries within eight weeks of receipt.
